Gamagrass makes wonderful hay whether large or small bales it makes no difference. With the high sugar content haylage or balage can also be used.

Gamagrass makes some of the finest hay. We use it to wean our calves so we don’t have to feed any expensive feed.

We find that a mower conditioner speeds drying as 1 day extra is needed for drying because the windrow tends to be very large and a cutting height of at least 6 inches is needed for speedy regrowth if you are going to make multiple cuttings.
